Discovering the best Gold Coast Restaurants

The Gold Coast may be famous for its beaches, theme parks and casino but that’s not all. It’s also home to some of the best dining experiences in Australia. A mecca for top chefs, the region offers every type of cuisine, from humble fish and chips to degustation banquets.

Gold Coast restaurants have really upped the ante in recent years as food and wine holidays have become more popular. With our tastes becoming more varied and global, the demand is there for all the flavours of the world.

Gold Coast Restaurants

Good restaurants in the Gold Coast also know that visitors want good value and, with the region’s amazing climate, more alfresco dining. Hosting the 2018 Commonwealth Games was the perfect excuse to give the area’s main dining precinct a multi-million-dollar makeover, providing plenty of choice, pedestrianized outdoor dining and street entertainment.

Themed restaurants are also popular, with Dracula’s Cabaret Gold Coast one of the longest running and most popular. This is really a dining experience with a difference!

If you like a good square meal combined with a night of entertainment, you’ll probably want to book in for the Australian Outback Spectacular. Your ticket includes a delicious dinner as well as an action-packed show featuring Australian animals, songs and stunts.

Good Restaurants in Gold Coast

The best Gold Coast restaurants aren’t confined to the beach strip either. Take a short drive or a tour out to the Hinterland and you’ll discover another world. Exploring ancient rain forests and bush walking in the mountains will give you a good appetite; that’s when it’s time to head to one of the many mountaintop eateries and indulge.

If you’d like to find out more about the region’s local produce, book yourself in for a farm gate or winery tour and tasting. From excellent wines to delicious local cheeses, you’ll be filling your bags ready for the trip home.

Gold Coast Restaurants Right On The Doorstep At The Phoenician

Queensland's Gold Coast has always been known for amazing beach holidays, and famous for its major events and theme parks but, over the last few years, it has also earned itself a reputation as a real foodie destination.

One of the reasons for this is the growth - and current rejuvenation - of Surf Parade, the famous restaurant strip located in Broadbeach. A $1 million streetscaping project is well underway, transforming the strip into a people-friendly dining and entertaining precinct.

Best Alfresco Dining

With on-street parking scrapped, and pavements widened, it will now be even more of a pleasure to wander along the strip, enjoying the ambience and choosing where to have dinner. Alfresco dining is about to get even better!

The great thing about Gold Coast restaurants is the choice, and range of budget options. From traditional seaside fish and chips to gourmet cuisine and silver service, it's all here. The range of flavours is quite amazing and you can just about eat your way around the world!

Proximity to the dining strip is just one of the great things I personally love about the Phoenician Resort at Broadbeach. Like most people, I enjoy a good wine with dinner, which usually means an expensive taxi ride home. But here, you can leave your car in the resort's secure undercover parking bay and walk.

Step Out For Something Sweet

And after a substantial meal, a slow stroll back to your apartment along the beachfront is just perfect! It's almost like having your own Phoenician restaurant onsite.

Of course, with the resort apartments boasting fully equipped kitchens, many guests like to eat in, and then go out for dessert. Stop in for coffee and something sweet, or enjoy a freshly made gelato as you wander along the beach under the moonlight.

If you're a bit of a foodie, and you've never been to Broadbeach, you're really missing out!
